Recently, Professor Ximing Xu and his team from the School of Pharmacy, Jiangsu University published a paper in the international authoritative journal Advanced Drug Delivery Reviews (District 1, CAS)  was invited to present a review entitled "The applications of 3D printing in wound healing: the external delivery of stem cells and antibiosis ".

In recent years, 3D bioprinting has been gradually applied to repair various tissue damage. Skin is the largest organ and the first barrier of the human body. Skin injury caused by various physiological or pathological reasons will make the skin lose its protective function, which will further develop into chronic wounds that are difficult to heal. Tissue regeneration and the local flora of the lesion site will directly decide the final restoration of the skin wounds. Therefore, with a detailed introduction of four 3D printing methods and their working principles, this paper mainly reviewed two aspects of 3D bioprinting applications, which are stem cell delivery and antibacterial regulation in respective.

Yu Qingtong, Wang Qilong, and Zhang Linzhi are the co-first authors of the paper, Professor Xu Ximing is the corresponding author, and Jiangsu University is the first and only corresponding address of the paper. The appointment and publication of this paper have greatly enhanced the academic status and international influence of our university in the field of stem cell and tissue regeneration research.
