Li Wang's team of school of pharmacy published the achievements of amplification-free CRISPR detection technology in Biosensors and Bioelectronics

The advent of CRISPR technology has revolutionized the field of biotechnology. Because of its high sensitivity, high specificity, and mild reaction temperature, CRISPR technology is known as the "next generation" diagnostic technology. Recently, CRISPR technology has been widely used in the field of molecular diagnosis. However, the current CRISPR test still needs to be combined with nucleic acid pre-amplification to achieve high sensitivity, which will inevitably lead to false negative or false positive results due to cross-contamination and potential amplification deviation.

Li Wang's research group of our school recently published a paper in the journal Biosensors and Bioelectronics (IF 12.54). On the basis of the preliminary research work, it proposed an amplification-free CRISPR nucleic acid detection strategy to solve this problem. The paper is entitled: Rapid and sensitive detection of Ebola RNA in an unamplified sample based on CRISPR-Cas13a and DNA roller machine. http://dx.doi.org/10.2139/ssrn.4058791. Xiaomin Hang, a master's student, is the first author of the paper.

Associate Professor Li Wang's team has long been committed to the development and application of molecular diagnostic methods and technologies.
